Excerpt

Have you ever really, really, wanted a pet?
Well I heard this story from a vet.
There was a little girl, her name was Pat.
And all she wished for was her very own cat.

She did not care if it was tall.
She did not care if it was small.
She did not care if it was fat.
She only cared, it was a cat.

Review

By Lynda Dickson

Pat's Wish is author Wade Faubert's first children's book. It is a 29-page picture book in rhyme, illustrated by Wade's wife, Alison Faubert. It is best suited to children aged eight and under.

The book's rhyming verse makes it perfectly suited to reading aloud before bedtime, or any other time for that matter. After a few reads, your young ones will probably start "reading" along! The cute and colorful illustrations are appealing to the eye and are sure to please young and old alike.

And the message? Well, as usual, be careful what you wish for.

About the Author
The author states, "I live in Ingersoll, Ontario and enjoy writing my novels with a link to my area. Wampus Springs, my debut novel, is set in the fictional town of Ridgeway, Ontario. Ridgeway is a combination of all my favorite places I grew up in. It's a collage of Ridgetown, Rondeau park and every other water front paradise Southern Ontario has to offer."
The author's second novel, Taken: Before Her Very Eyes, was released in October 2012, and is set in the author's home town of Chatham, Ontario.

Pat's Wish is Wade's first children's book and was "unbelievably fun to create".
