Description
Lacy Marie Crocker’s whimsical pet couture has gained a following in New Orleans’s cozy Garden District, and word of mouth has traveled all the way to her favorite fashion designer, Annie Lane. Lacy’s thrilled when Annie schedules a private session at her home to discuss a companion line for her evening wear, but when Lacy arrives for the appointment, she enters the kitchen to two mewling Siamese cats - and one very dead Annie.
Lacy takes the kittens home to care for them until they can be properly claimed by Annie's family or friends, but after a busy day of work, she returns home to find them missing. And when Lacy learns the cats are set to inherit Annie's fortune, she begins to wonder if the killer was after the kittens all along. Now Lacy will stop at nothing to save the Siamese and find justice for Annie - if the killer doesn’t sink his claws into her first.
Luckily, Lacy has the help of handsome NOLA PD homicide detective Jack Oliver to help her catch the cat-napper before it's too late in Cat Got Your Cash, the endearing second Kitty Couture Mystery from Julie Chase.

Praise for the Book
"Along with suspense, danger and mystery, the reader will enjoy the humor in the shenanigans throughout the story. Along with the cats, there are chickens and llamas to round out the story." ~ Carol Smith
"This book has all the ingredients for a perfect cozy mystery. I enjoyed the New Orleans setting and references to voodoo and magic, and thought it was a nice addition to the story. [...] The end of this book sets up nicely for the next story and I will definitely be adding this series to my list of favorite cozy mysteries." ~ Debbie Erickson
"I just absolutely enjoyed this book, it was funny, witty and full of surprises. The characters are the type that anyone at some time in their life can relate to. They are colorful, mystical and Julie really brings them to life. It was easy to follow and had a nice flow. Packed full of action and I just didn't want to put it down. I am so looking forward to the third book." ~ Kim Gayheart
"Cat Got Your Cash is the second book in the Kitty Couture Mystery series. I have not yet read the first book in the series, but I had no problem following the story in this book. This story is set in New Orleans and was a fun and enjoyable read. This story kept my interest throughout. I will be definitely getting the first book in the series and will be looking forward to additional books!" ~ Kelly Pfister
"All of the characters are well developed and provide so much to the story as it twisted and turned through the streets of New Orleans. The pace of the story was fast and I really had trouble putting it down when there always seemed to be a new clue revealed. I will definitely have to read the first book in this series just so I can treat myself to another visit to New Orleans." ~ J. M. Varner

Why I Put Romance in my Cozy Mysteries
I admit it. I’m a romance junkie. There’s just something about the butterflies and chemistry of a new relationship that reminds me of my youth. Of easier times. Of fun. And fun always belongs in my stories.
I find the deep southern setting of my Kitty Couture Mysteries especially conducive to romance. There’s something about a love story that gets my eyelashes fluttering and my hips swinging. I think of parasols and fainting spells and the zing of learning he likes me too, *sigh*. Plus, my heartbroken heroine could use a romantic pick-me-up after that mess up North with Pete-the-Cheat. So, I’ve got to help a sister out.
Adding romance to mysteries makes me very happy, but it’s a little tricky. Let’s face it, no matter how hard I swoon, the story isn’t about the romance, it’s about the mystery, and falling in love is a full-time storyline. So, if you’re reading this series and have your giant foam finger already purchased for Team Chase or Team Jack, keep waving it patiently. Their relationships have to move slowly, but they are moving. They are going somewhere. I promise. And, spoiler alert, they will get there in a book or two. *fingers crossed for your team*
Another reason I add romance to mysteries: Romance is a great tension breaker. The added drama for my poor heroine makes her already unfurling life even more dramatic and gives her something else to think about. Mortal peril alone just isn’t enough. How about some man problems too? That’s fun. Then, there’s the distraction. Hey, budding relationships are an enormous source of anxiety and for an amateur sleuth, that can be deadly. Then there are my poor heroes. It’s tough enough to look out for your hard-headed new love interest when she’s not chasing criminals and putting herself in harm’s way. When she’s abducted by a killer every few months, you start to question your abilities as a cop. See? Romance adds all sorts of fun to everything, and I love weaving the frantic, sometimes frustrating details into my mysteries.
Bottom line: I’ll take romance in whatever form it’s being served, and I’ll squeeze it into every story I can. It’s real and relatable and overall fantastic. Send me a heaping helping of teasing looks and will-they / won’t they, and I will fall right off my couch every time. I promise you that.
If you’re looking for a new line of books or a new author to try this year, I hope you’ll visit New Orleans with me and my cast of characters. The Garden District is a beautiful place where anything can happen. Kick off your shoes, grab an extra-large glass of sweet tea, and I’ll see you there!
